Originally developed by Joseph Pilates as the "Bednasium", the Cadillac is where the classical practice deepens. The most comprehensive piece of apparatus Joseph Pilates designed — a full trapeze table with push-through bar, roll-back bar, arm springs, leg springs, and hanging straps — it addresses what every other piece of apparatus leaves, and reaches parts of the body and the practice that nothing else can.
Ours is made from solid maple: a hardwood chosen not for aesthetics alone, though it is undeniably beautiful, but for the qualities that matter in apparatus used daily by serious practitioners. Maple is dense, stable, and resistant to the wear that comes from years of consistent use. It does not flex where it should not. It does not absorb impact where it should reflect it.
The Cadillac allows for inversions and hanging work that no other apparatus supports. It delivers spring-based exercises from supine, prone, seated, kneeling, and standing positions across a range that would take several other pieces of apparatus to replicate. The push-through bar alone — moving from above and below, spring-loaded in both directions — unlocks a vocabulary of spinal work that is among the most profound in the classical repertoire. The roll-back bar teaches the body to articulate the spine with support before it must do so without. The arm and leg springs develop strength and length together, in the integration the method always demands.
For the fully equipped studio, the Cadillac is not optional. It is where the most significant work happens — the work that changes the body at depth, over time, in ways that the mat and reformer alone cannot reach.
The maple frame is finished by hand in our workshop in Frome. It will age well, as good wood does — becoming more itself with use, rather than less.

Base measures 208cm long x 65cm wide x 63cm high, 204cm total height with bars. Low ceilings? Base height is fully customisable although may reduce some functionality.
Large and upholstered items are custom made to order in the order they are received and ship in under 3 months. Please note for upholstered items that due to screen variables, colour deviation is possible. We are happy to provide swatches.
