The gentle incline created by placing the heels on the bar and the toes on the floor — or the toes raised and the heels grounded, depending on the exercise — stretches the plantar fascia, lengthens the Achilles tendon, and brings immediate, honest feedback about how weight is distributed across the foot. Most people, standing on the Foot Exerciser Bar for the first time, discover that their feet have been doing something quite different from what they assumed.
Used as part of a warm-up, it prepares the feet and ankles for the demands of the full practice. Used consistently over time, it corrects the alignment patterns at the base of the body that travel upward through the ankles, knees, hips, and spine. The feet are the foundation.
